Stanglass

Stanglass

Stanglass is Standard Engineering Technology's proprietary glass lining, engineered for our glass-lined process equipment used across the pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, biotechnology and food industries.

Manufactured in a crucible rather than a rotary furnace, Stanglass delivers superior glass quality and consistency across every batch. It is available in seven specialist glass series, each optimised for specific chemical environments, temperature ranges and process demands. Three colour options are available: Standark Blue, Stansky Blue and Stansnow White.

Stanglass incorporates GL HAKKO Conductive Glass and Heat Exchanger technology and sets the benchmark for chemical resistance, thermal stability and mechanical durability in glass-lined process equipment.

技術仕様

Physical Properties

  • Specific gravity: 2.50 to 2.70 g/cm³
  • Hardness: 5.5 Mohs / 520 to 580 Vickers HV
  • Surface roughness: 0.08 to 0.20 microns
  • Adhesion strength (glass to steel): Greater than 10 kg/mm²
  • Tensile strength: 68 to 88 N/mm²
  • Compression strength: 800 to 1,200 N/mm²
  • Electrical resistivity: 10¹² to 10¹⁴ Ωcm
  • Dielectric strength: 20 to 30 kV/mm

Operating Temperature Range

  • Standard grades: −25°C to +200°C
  • 9900 High Temperature Glass: Up to 300°C
  • 2100 GL Stainless Steel: Down to −180°C

Chemical Resistance Snapshot

  • Excellent resistance to hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric and acetic acids across a wide concentration range
  • Good resistance to phosphoric acid — resistance decreases as concentration increases
  • Fully resistant to all pH values at room temperature; alkali resistance reduces as temperature rises
  • Perfect resistance to organic solvents up to maximum equipment operating temperature
  • Low dielectric constant solvents such as hexane, toluene and benzene may generate static; 9500 Conductive Glass is recommended for these applications
  • Susceptible to fluoride attack; corrosion testing is required before use with fluoride-containing media

Quality and Testing Standards

  • High voltage test: DIN 2746
  • Chemical corrosion test: ISO 28706-2
  • Alkaline corrosion test: ISO 28706-4
  • Abrasion resistance test: ISO 6370
  • Thermal shock resistance test: ISO 13807
  • Quality requirements: ISO 28721
