Hetero Labs Limited is a major pharmaceutical manufacturer with large scale operations across multiple sites in India. To support its complex chemical processing requirements, the company partnered with Standard Engineering Technology (formally Standard Glass Lining Technologies Ltd) for the supply of glass lined process equipment and associated services.
The partnership began in May 2013, when Hetero Labs identified the need for reliable glass lined equipment capable of operating consistently under demanding acidic and alkaline process conditions. These applications required high resistance to corrosion, thermal stability across varying temperatures, and long term surface integrity to ensure product quality and operational safety.
Standard Engineering Technology (formally Standard Glass Lining Technologies) supplied a wide range of equipment tailored to these requirements. The scope included glass lined reactors with capacities up to 16 KL, AE reactors of 12.5 KL supplied in multiple units, MSGL receivers ranging from small laboratory scale volumes to 12.5 KL, and glass lined columns of DN 450 size. In addition to new equipment supply, the project also involved re lining services for existing vessels, agitators, thermowells, manhole covers, gaskets, and protection rings to extend equipment life and maintain performance standards.
Over the course of the partnership, approximately 500 pieces of equipment have been supplied across Hetero group companies including Hetero Drugs, Hetero Labs, Honour Labs, Cirex, Hazelo and Hindys. In the most recent three year period alone, 100 glass lined reactors were replaced with Standard Glass products, demonstrating sustained confidence in both product quality and service capability.
Delivery focused on consistent manufacturing quality, precise dimensional control, and dependable after sales support. Particular attention was given to glass lining finish, as surface integrity is critical in pharmaceutical processing. Operational feedback confirmed that the supplied equipment showed no white or red staining commonly observed with alternative makes, while maintaining a glossy surface finish and strong endurance under continuous use.
The outcome has been a stable, long term equipment solution supporting critical production processes across multiple sites. Performance has met operational expectations, with equipment reliability contributing to efficient, uninterrupted manufacturing under challenging chemical conditions.
